History

History

Before 1970

September 1931Yoshiyoshi Suzuki founded Takasago Industrial Works in Dachi-cho, Toki City, Gifu Prefecture, beginning the design and manufacture of various industrial kilns.
September 1953The business was incorporated as Takasago Industry Co., Ltd. Yoshiyoshi Suzuki assumed the role of President and CEO.
1957-1966Tile factory, raw materials factory, and machine shop were built at the current headquarters location, establishing the foundation of Takasago Industry Co., Ltd.
February 1965Takasago Tile Co., Ltd. was established in Kamado-cho, Mizunami City, Gifu Prefecture, beginning production of unglazed mosaic tiles.
April 1966Became a portfolio company of Nagoya Small and Medium Business Investment & Consultation Co., Ltd.
October 1966Current headquarters building completed.
March 1968Imari Factory was built in Higashiyamashiro-cho, Imari City, Saga Prefecture, beginning the design and construction of various industrial kilns and related equipment, as well as production of glazed roof tiles.

1970s

January 1970Established joint venture Fancy Tile Co. in Malaysia, beginning production of glazed mosaic tiles and wall tiles.
April 1973Established joint venture Alborz Ceramic Co. in Iran, beginning glazed mosaic tile production.
September 1974Established joint venture Asahi-Ten Ceramics Co., Ltd. in Taiwan, beginning manufacture of industrial kilns and related equipment.
February 1975Established joint venture Philmosaic Co. in the Philippines.
March 1975Developed externally heated rotary kiln. Developed carbonization rotary kiln.
July 1975Developed continuous kiln for smoked roof tile firing.
March 1977Installed a high-efficiency tableware plant at the headquarters factory combining micro kilns and roller hearth kilns, beginning white tableware production.
February 1978Developed high-performance Super Wide Kiln for glazed roof tile firing.
March 1979Obtained JIS (Japanese Industrial Standards) marking certification for tile manufacturing.

1980s

July 1981Added a centralized machine tool factory at headquarters.
December 1982Added a fan and burner manufacturing factory at headquarters.
March 1983Developed internally heated rotary kiln.
May 1983Developed honeycomb firing tunnel kiln.
July 1983Added a test furnace factory at headquarters.
February 1985Completed and announced a fully automatic computer-controlled tunnel kiln.
November 1986Developed a fully automatic glazed mosaic tile manufacturing plant.
February 1987Developed a reduction firing roller hearth kiln for porcelain tableware.
June 1987Developed a computer furnace monitoring, management, and control system.
March 1988Yoshitake Suzuki assumed the role of President and CEO.

1990s

January 1990Fully implemented CAD systems in the design department.
September 1994Opened the Awaji Sales Office in Hyogo Prefecture.
August 1997Fully upgraded the CAD systems in the design department.
April 1998Developed electrically heated, special atmosphere controlled batch rotary kiln.
April 1999Developed gas-heated, special atmosphere controlled continuous rotary kiln.
December 1999Obtained ISO 9001 certification.

2000s

July 2000Developed electrically heated, special atmosphere controlled pusher kiln.
May 2001Developed electrically heated, special atmosphere controlled elevator kiln.
October 2001Developed batch microwave firing furnace.
April 2002Introduced cost management system.
June 2003Developed microwave continuous furnace and hybrid kiln.
July 2003Hiroshi Watanabe assumed the role of President and CEO.
December 2004Established joint venture Foshan Takasago Industrial Kiln Co., Ltd. in China.
February 2005Developed microwave/electric/vacuum hybrid car elevator kiln.
June 2006Developed IH induction heating technology.
December 2006Obtained ISO 14001 certification.
June 2007Tatsuya Suzuki assumed the role of President and CEO.

2010 – Present

September 2012Held 60th anniversary celebration event.
April 2014Established the Vacuum Furnace Division and Environmental Division.
April 2016Acquired Maeda Material Co., Ltd.
July 2016Consolidated the Sales Division, Environmental Division, and Technology Division into the Industrial Furnace Division.
